I am a parent of a rising Senior at Martin Luther King, Jr. High School who has been a public school band
member since elementary school. This current school year marks the 8th year of operations. MLK's
accomplishments speaks for itself. Their greatest accomplishment was in 2006 when they traveled to
participate in South African Marching Band National Championships. The MLK Marching Lions, from Lithonia,
GA are the first American High School Band to ever participate.
