THE ELEMENTS SHALL MELT WITH FERVENT HEAT

THE ELEMENTS SHALL MELT WITH FERVENT HEAT

A lot of heresies are connected with what happens when the Son of God returns.  Test what you have been taught --or are teaching --with these words of the apostle Peter:

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?”  2 Peter 2:10-12

Man’s day with all his opinions, building plans  and works will be burned up.  The Lord’s day is coming as a thief in the night --  who will be ready*?

Matthew 24:43
If the good man of the house had known - “As a master of a family who expected a thief at any time of the night, would take care to be awake, and ready to protect his house; so do ye, who know that the Son of man will come. Though the day and hour be uncertain, continue always in a state of watchfulness, that he may not come upon you unawares.” Wakefield.

* WARNING:  If you commit sin, this is what Jesus will say to you on judgment day:

“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”  Matthew 7:22-23  The literal translation is “Depart from me, you that transgress the law.”
