I spoke with a user today who had a great application for their Keep and Share account. They were creating a comprehensive record of their home and possessions in case disaster ever strikes.
We've all heard the advice from the experts: we should have a full photographic inventory and written records of our homes and possessions to help insure we can get full recovery from our insurance policies in case of theft, fire or other loss.
With Keep and Share it couldn't be easier or more powerful. Here's what our friend is doing:
- Walk through their home with a digital camera, taking pictures in all directions in every room, closet, garage, etc.
- Create a 'Home Inventory' folder
- Upload the photos into Keep and Share, creating several photo blogs
- Edit the photo blogs to add detailed captions describing the items shown in the photo - you can't do this in other photo sharing sites, since only Keep and Share allows unlimited text captioning
- Upload any other Excel and Word files with inventory and pricing information into the same Keep and Share account
- Because this information is in Keep and Share, it is 'offsite' from your home and completely safe in the event of a disaster. Further more, like all Keep and Share information, it is highly secure and private to you.
