As busy adults many of us volunteer our time for one or more groups, whether it's leading a Girl Scout troop, a church, a pre-school board, a condo association board, charity or other community or civic group. If you do, I'm sure you've noticed how these organizations are starved for resources and support and, paradoxically, how they therefore desperately need to be as efficient and organized as possible.
Enter Keep and Share. It is an ideal tool for any group that meets regularly to organize, protect & share it's information among group members.
Here's how just one condo association is using Keep and Share:
- They created a free Keep and Share account named after the condo building
- They invited all members by email to have personal free accounts and they created a share group with all these members.
- They posted their detailed membership roster into the account - you'd never want a list with emails & phone numbers to be publicly available on the web, but now all condo members can find the latest roster instantly in the secure, password-protected condo account
- All board agendas & minutes are stored in a 'board' folder
- Annual budgets are stored as excel spreadsheets in a 'finances' folder
- They use the List application to maintain to do lists of maintenance tasks around the building.
- All of the above is shared only with group members, but they've also posted public information such as the history of the building, lists favorite merchants and plumbers and electricians, and driving directions as public documents within the account.
- They use the calendar to note schedule association meetings and also everyone's birthday!
- Like all KeepandShare accounts, the condo's account has its own free web address: condoname.keepandshare.com.
