Busy Parent

I'm Susan. I'm a busy Mom with two young children.  So far I mostly use KeepandShare to organize my busy life - to help make sure I don't forget a doctor's appointment, or get too overwhelmed by all the tasks I'm juggling.  To do this, I use KeepandShare in a very straightforward fashion but I love it. I use the Calendar to keep all family appointments in a single 'family calendar'. Since this is always online, and since I've "shared" the calendar with my husband John (as easy as typing John's user name "jbigham" into the Sharing control), now John can access the family calendar from work.  He no longer schedules business trips that conflict with family events like the kids' school play.

I use the List application to keep more than a dozen separate prioritized lists of to do items that I don't want to forget.  Some of the lists are "Home Repair", "Fall Projects", "Finances", and "PTA Commitments".    I use the Bookmark application to store links to all my favorite websites.   This is a life saver because my house has a computer in the kids room and another in the home office and I tend to use both at various times. Before KeepandShare it I was frustrated by using browser bookmarks or favorites - they always seemed to be on a different machine than I was.   I was even able to share my KeepandShare bookmarks with my Dad while on his computer at his house last Labor Day weekend.  While I was still at my Dad's I then accessed my family calendar (again from his computer) to plan a joint family vacation. I've become a real fan of the way KeepandShare allows me to use any internet connected computer to stay in touch.

I have some ideas for what I'll do next with KeepandShare - get my Mom a free account so she can visit the family calendar, and, more importantly, I want to start creating photo blogs, which are essentially just annotated photo albums.  I'll then share my photo blogs not only with Mom but also send out an email to friends and be able to just point them to the latest photo blog, such as "Our Marine World Trip".  Lastly, I was thinking my book group could use KeepandShare documents and discussions for some preparatory work before their monthly meetings!
