I'm Ariel. I recently completed my Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry and I'm already managing several small teams doing basic research in a large multinational company. Their work involves many projects, experiments and documents. I've found KeepandShare to be an ideal way to coordinate my teams and keep everyone on the same page.
Since KeepandShare accounts are free I was able quickly set up separate accounts for each team, as well as an account for every team member. Within each team account I granted share rights to the team members, so that within any team they can visit the shared account and edit and comment within it. The best part about this is since everyone accesses the same shared documents, there is no need to email copies of documents back and forth!
I'm going to get technical on you now. My teams' research experiments always yield a lot of data. In the past, finding the data results, summaries and analyses was often difficult, but now the team members upload the various numerical and graphical data sets using KeepandShare's "Upload Files" command. Of course, all of KeepandShare's tight security and sharing controls apply to this sensitive data as it does to all KeepandShare information. Also, no matter what the type of uploaded file, team members can use the "Add Comment" command to directly attach group comments and discussions right on these uploaded files.
I found KeepandShare very easy to adopt in my work since it works with all modern internet browsers and there was no software that anyone had to install. When I created accounts for my team members they automatically received a personalized email from me with the initial log-on information, then they could enter their own secure passwords and customize their usernames.
My research group was recently awarded a company prize for best on-schedule performance; an achievement I don't think could have been achieved without KeepandShare. It has sped up and smoothed our team work, no matter how far or close by colleagues are working.
