How to Use

Flexibly Mix Private and Public Sharing

You always control who sees what. Choose either private or public sharing for every shared file, calendar, photo and folder. All private shares require password sign-in.

What is private sharing?   Private sharing means others must enter a password to prove they are allowed to view and/or edit your shared information. You can flexibly mix private and public sharing in your account. Everything in your account has it's own unique sharing control and can have it's sharing set as you wish.

Setting up private sharing is easy. Log into your free account & paste a list of email addresses into 'Invite a friend'. Your colleagues will instantly have free login accounts linked into your group's main 'hub' account. Now they can access any private shares on your website web components. Optionally grant them edit rights to allow them to update the calendar, add files into your folders, or add photos to your albums.

An Example

Goal: A webmaster wants:

  1. An easy way for office staff to update a public schedule of activities on the non-profit website.
  2. A small widget of the calendar in a home page sidebar that leads to a page with a bigger calendar when clicked.

Solution: They set the calendar's sharing to be public so it can be viewed on the web page. They also share the calendar with a second account called 'admin' and they give that account edit rights - allowing office staff to sign in and edit the calendar. Lastly they copy out the embed code for the calendar. First they copy out a small 'day scroll' style of embedding, placing a very small widget that fits in the home page sidebar. Then they copy out a 'month-view' embed code and place that on a full page of it's own. Under the small widget in the home page they put a link 'Go to Full Calendar'.
