If you are using IE 7 or IE 8, you can right-click in the top pane and choose 'Arrange Icons By' to change the order of the top pane before giving the 'Add All' command.
7.
I am viewing an album. How do I go back to the 'top level' of Photo?
Click on the 'Photo Home' command in the album's top bar. Or click on the gray 'Photo' tab.
8.
What is the difference between 'Photo Library' and 'Albums'?
When you click on the gray Photo tab you are at the top level of Photo and the left column displays two bold titles: 'Albums' and 'Photo Library'.
Photo Library gives you access to your entire photo collection. All of your uploaded photos are always available in your photo library. Each photo exists just once and can have a title and description and tags assigned to it.
Albums, in turn, are a grouping of photos. Photos can occur in more than one album. Deleting a photo from an album does not delete it from your photo library. Conversely, deleting a photo from the photo library removes it from all albums.
9.
What are the different styles of album viewing?
Albums provide five different styles of viewing. When you are editing an album you can pick the default view style. But when a friend is viewing your album, they can always switch between the styles. As well, in all views you can pick whether you want to view your photo in Small, Medium or Large sizes. The five album styles are:
- Light Table: Click on a 'slide' on the light table and it will be displayed at full size. Click on the full size to return to the light table. Once a slide has been viewed it is dimmed on the light table so you can track your progress.
- Film Strip: Click on any of the film strip's small thumbnails and that photo is displayed below the film strip.
- Blog: Photos are displayed in a long, scrolling document-like column, complete with all photo titles and description text. A great way to quickly 'scroll through' an entire photo album.
- Scatter Blog: Provides visual variety in a long scroll of photos by doubling up every other row into 2 smaller, side-by-side photos.
- Slide Show: A classic slide show mode. Start an automatic slide show by clicking the green 'Start slide show' link at the top right of the photo. Or use the side arrows to manual pace the slide show.
10.
Can I edit photos after uploading them?
Yes. Click on 'Photo Library (view)' to access your collection, then click on the blue 'Edit' link next to a photo. You can add tags to the photo, specify a Title and Description. You can also rotate the orientation of the photo. You can also edit photos from within an album by first clicking 'Edit' on the album, then clicking the gray 'Edit Photo' button.
11.
How can I delete photos?
Since accounts are limited in the number of photos they can hold, you may want to periodically 'clean up' your account by deleting unwanted photos. When you are
editing an album, the delete photo command only deletes that photos from that particular album, but the photo is still in your photo library.
To permanently delete a photo from your account, you must delete the photo from the Photo Library: click on the 'Photo Library' button in the left column. Click on the blue 'Edit' link above the photo you want to delete. Click on the gray 'Delete Photo' button and this photo is permanently deleted from the Photo Library and all albums. Your account photo total is also reduced by 1.
12.
What are tags and how do I use them?
Tags are short descriptions you can apply to one or more photos. We suggest keeping them to just 1 or 2 words in length. For instance, if you have a child named 'Memphis', you might apply the tag 'Memphis' to all photos of him. Then you can search across your photo library to display all Memphis photos, irrespective of when you took the photo or which albums it might be in. Of course, you can assign more than one tag to a photo. For instance, a photo might have the tags 'Memphis', 'Beach Trip' and 'Vacations'.
You can apply tags whenever you are editing a photo. Create tags by clicking on the 'New Tag' command to the right of the photo. Edit your list of tags with the 'Edit Tags' button.
13.

Display your photo library by clicking in the left column on 'Photo Library (view)'. Then, in the left column, in the search box click on the 'Tag' pull down and choose the tag you want to search for.
14.
Are there ways to tag multiple photos at once?
Yes, whenever you are editing a single photo, the tag commands on the right side allow you to apply the tag to the entire current collection. For instance, if you are editing a photo as part of an album, the tag would be applied to all the photos in the album. Alternatively, if you were viewing photos uploaded during the month of May from your photo library, then the tag would apply to all of that set of photos.
15.
My photo is sideways. How do I turn it upright?
Edit your photo by clicking on 'Photo Library (view)' to access your collection, then click on the blue 'Edit' link next to a photo. Then choose one of the 4 blue 'head and shoulders' icons to change the photo to that orientation. Then click 'Save and Exit'.
16.
Can I control the sharing of albums?
Yes, click the blue 'Edit' command under an album and you will see KeepandShare's standard 'Share With' controls. Once you have set them, click on Save and Exit. To learn more about sharing see the KeepandShare
help system on sharing, and our
videos on sharing.
17.
Can I share individual photos?
Although you can copy out URL links that point to individual photos, you cannot control the private sharing of individual photos. You should organize photos into albums, and then set the 'Share With' controls on your albums to control who can see them.
18.
Can I host photos for my blog or website?
Yes, any photos in your account can be accessed by their URL. To get a photo's URL, edit the photo and copy out one of the 3 'photo links' depending on the size to which you want to link. You can then paste this link into your blog or website.
19.
Are the gray link boxes so I can link to photos and albums?
Yes. KeepandShare is a great way to host photos or albums for your blog or web page. Just copy out the photo URL link or album URL link and paste it into your email, blog or web page.
Here's how to find the links. When you view an album, a gray box titled 'Album Link:' is below the album view, so just scroll down to see the gray box. Whenever you view photos in an album, there are also 3 gray boxes titled 'Photo Links'. These 3 photo links are for the small, medium and large sizes of the photo. Just click in a gray link box and copy its link to the clipboard (you can copy with 'Ctrl-C' in Windows).
For linking to albums, don't forget to set the sharing on the album, since albums are protected by KeepandShare's secure private sharing. E.g., set the 'Share With' control to 'Public' to allow an album to be viewed by any web visitor without them needing to log in to a KeepandShare account.
20.
What is the resolution of uploaded photos?
All photos are uploaded at a size of 1800 pixels. This provides enough resolution to fill all but the very largest computer screens, and allows for excellent photo prints at sizes up to 8x10.
21.
Is there a way to download photos?
All paid accounts include advanced commands for downloading photos to your personal computer, or copying photos and albums from another person's account into your account. Click on a photo to view it and then click on the blue 'Download' link at the bottom of the photo to download it at its full 1800 pixel size.
Click here for details on paid accounts.
22.
Can my friends add photos into my album as well?
Yes, your friends can add photos to albums in your account. First, you must give your friends both access to view
and edit your album by using the
Share With controls (be sure to check the edit box to give them edit rights). Then your friends can view your album and click on the large yellow 'Edit' button above your album, which will place them into the album editor on your shared album. When your friends click on the gray 'Insert Photo' command, they can upload photos into your account/album, or they can insert photos
from their own account.
23.
Can I or my friends print photos?
Since Photo supports very large image sizes for both uploading and downloading, yes, it is very suitable for printing. Simply download the images you want to your PC and use your favorite photo printing methods.
24.
What is 'Full Size' and how does it compare to Large, Medium and Small?
When viewing photos in an album, at the bottom of each photo is the 'Show Full Size' command. Because full size photos are so huge, when you click on this link, KeepandShare will open a new window and display the photo at the largest available resolution, which typically more than fills your browser window.
25.
What is the speed of the photo uploading?
KeepandShare photos are uploaded and stored at a higher resolution than many web photo sites, giving you gorgeous high quality online images and great printing options. Of course, it takes a while to upload all those photo files at high resolution. The exact speed of the uploading depends on your particular Internet speed.
26.
Can I view the photos in my photo library without first putting them into albums?
Yes. Whenever you click on 'Photo Library (view)' and your are viewing individual photos on the right side, just click on a photo and a pop-up viewer appears. You can choose the size of the pop-up viewer and move to the Next or Prev photos.
27.
How can I change the order of photos in an album?

29.
I loved KeepandShare's old style of 'photo blogs'. What has changed?
KeepandShare new photo application is upwards compatible with photoblogs. Any photoblogs you have already created will appear just the same, just as your photoblog folders will be unchanged. If you edit old photoblogs, you can even insert newly uploaded photos into them with the insert photo icon.
With the new KeepandShare Photo application, however, you gain significant new functionality. Managing your photo library is much more capable, including editing, tagging and searching of individual photos. And photo librarys can now be viewed in five different styles: light table, film strip, blog, scatter blog, and slide show.
For photoblog style, just view in the new 'blog' or 'scatter blog' styles, which give you a vertical scroll just like the old photo blogs. However, what is no longer possible with the new photo application is creating 'by hand' custom layouts inside of your photo blog using advanced editing with HTML tables and HTML formatting. If you want, you can still create documents in the KeepandShare document application and insert photos into it and have full HTML editing flexibility for custom layouts.
30.
Can I still put long text descriptions in the new albums?
Many people loved telling stories with KeepandShare's photo blogs where you could put unlimited text before and after photos. Yes, you can absolutely still do this! Every photo accepts both a title field and a description field. These each contain large amounts of text, and each is displayed with the photo in all album views. So, to tell a story in photo blog style, simply write your sentences and paragraphs in the description field and view the album in 'blog' mode.
An important user tip: after you have finished adding a title or description to a photo, instead of clicking on 'Save', click on the yellow 'Next' button and it will both save the current photo and take you to the next one - speeding the addition of photo titles and descriptions.
31.
Can I still access my old photo rolls?
Yes you can. 'Photo rolls' are groups of photos uploaded before April 22, 2009. To access your old photo rolls, edit a photo blog or document, then click on the 'Insert Photo' icon command. The Insert Photo dialog allows you to select your newly uploaded photos, but you can also access old photo rolls by clicking on the blue link 'Click here for old photo rolls' (it's on the right side under the yellow search button).
32.
Do my photos in old photo rolls decrease the number of new, large photos I can upload into my account?
No, photos uploaded before April 22, 2009 do not count against your account limits. Feel free to keep all these old photos around.
33.
Can I use my old photo rolls in the new photo albums?
No, you cannot, but you can simply re-upload your photos to use them in new albums. Here's why: the old style 'photo rolls' (photos uploaded before April 22, 2009) are much less capable than photos uploaded after April 22nd. For instance, new photos are much higher resolution, can be edited, have titles and descriptions applied, and support powerful 'tagging' and searching. Because old style 'photo rolls' are missing all these features, the old photo rolls cannot be used in new photo albums. We suggest you simply re-upload your old photos again - you'll gain all the benefits of the new photo capabilities.
34.
Is there a way to still create an old style photo blog?
Yes. There are two methods: (1) In the photo application, make a copy of an older blog, retitle it, delete existing photos, and proceed with inserting photos into it with the tool bar's 'insert photo' icon command; or (2) Create a document in the document application and insert photos into it with the same 'insert photo' icon.
35.
Can I convert old style photo blogs into the new feature-rich albums?
No, photo blogs created before April 22, 2009 cannot be converted into new albums. You should re-upload your original photos and create a new album if you want the new style albums.
