Creating New Calendar Entries

KeepandShare's calendar is as easy to use as any wall calendar - to create new entries you simply type directly in the calendar's box for that day.

First make sure you are in the calendar application by clicking on the gray "Calendar" tab.

Click in the day to which you want to add. You'll see a blinking cursor. Then just start typing. It's that simple. Hit your Enter key to move the cursor lower in the box - there is no need to create 'an event' - just type and use the Enter key and space bar to move text down or to the right.

You can edit calendar entries by selecting text, deleting, copying, pasting - all the usual keyboard commands. (in Windows while pressing the 'Ctrl' key hit 'X' to cut, Ctrl-C to copy, and Ctrl-V to paste), or format your calendar entry with simple text characters.

You can enter as much text as you like into a day - if it exceeds the box size, a scroll bar will appear in Firefox:

In Internet Explorer (IE) scroll bars do not appear, but you can scroll the text by clicking in the day box and using the up and down arrow keys to move the cursor.

If you habitually find the box size too small, resize the calendar by resizing your browser window! Or switch into the 'Day View' of the calendar - the boxes are huge and can hold thousands of characters. Using the calendar in day view is an ideal way to keep an online diary for gardening notes, travel notes, medical history or diet & weight loss. It's ideal for daily planner and daily diary applications in general.

Here is an example of the day view - see how much text you can enter and view on screen and in your printouts!
