Using the Show Bar to Find Documents

The show bar controls which folders and documents are displayed. It is your tool to control exactly what is displayed and to help you find your information quickly.

If checked, the "all folders" checkbox displays all folders 'opened up' with their document titles displayed. If it is unchecked, then only the folders titles will be displayed. You may then click on any folder name to 'drill down' and see only its contents, or check the "all folders' box to see all folders' contents.

If checked, the "by date" checkbox orders the displayed documents by last edit date, showing the most recent documents first. This is a great way to find a document you recently worked on, or if you remember it was two Fridays ago that your worked on it.

The " documents" checkbox displays only documents that have their gold star turned on.

To search, simply type one or more words into the search box and click on the Search button. Results are instantly displayed. To clear the search, click on the that appears next to the Search box.

The "files" checkbox displays all stored files you have uploaded. Nno other documents are shown. Stored files are the binary files such as Microsoft Excel or .MP3 you've uploaded from your PC or Mac.

Lastly, the "sharing" checkbox turns on the display of with whom you have shared a document. In the following display, you can see the the document "Possible Print Ads" is has been shared with 'jackie' and that she has edit rights:

The "hidden" checkbox displays all hidden files and documents. Hidden files are ones you have marked hidden when editing them.
