Tables: How Do I Create & Edit a Table Layout?

Since KeepandShare's editor is based on HTML, powerful HTML tables are one of the great options for formatting your photos and text. For instance, you could create a table to arrange your photos in a horizontal row, or a table to arrange columns of text and numbers.

Here is a table with 2 rows and 3 columns:

To create a table, first edit a document, click in the location you want the table, and then choose the Insert Table icon from the toolbar. You'll then see a dialog like this:

(Note - if you don't see the "Ok" and "Cancel" button, resize the dialogue to show them.)

Don't be intimidated by this dialog. There are really just 3-4 fields you need to pay attention to unless you want advanced control over your tables. Also, you can always make changes to your table after it's created (see below).

Fill in the Columns and Rows fields to control how many rows and columns you want.

Change the Border Width field to be 1px (pixel) or greater if you want your table to have visible border lines.

Lastly, to control the width of your table, put a number such as 60 or 100 into the Table Width field (this tells the browser to size the table at 60 or 100% of the browser's window's size). Alternatively, you can click on the '%' and choose 'px' to define a fixed number of pixels for the table width (I like 700 px myself). Now click on okay, and then click in one of the table cells to insert text. You can even insert a photo into a cell.

If your new table has borders turned on but you don't see them, click on the Display Table Border icon , which toggles the borders on and off inside your editor (the borders will always display when the document is being viewed or edited).

To edit the table properties after it's already been created, just click on the table border to select the table ('handles' should appear). Then right click and choose 'Table Properties'.
