How Do I Upload My Document?

There are two ways to get your word processing document into KeepandShare.

The first way is to copy the document's contents using the clipboard's copy and paste commands. Open your word processing document on your PC, select all of the text in the document (in Windows the Ctrl-A key combination is a quick way to select all), give a copy command (Ctrl-C in Windows), and then paste the text from the clipboard into an open KeepandShare editing window. You can paste either with the Ctrl-V paste command or by clicking on one of the two clipboard icons in KeepandShare's editor icon toolbar.

The second way is to upload your PC-native word processing document into KeepandShare. Using KeepandShare you can store any type of PC or Mac native file including spreadsheet, powerpoint, Microsoft Word, MP3, JPEG, or AVI. Once these files are in KeepandShare they are referred to as "uploaded" or "stored" files. In PC parlance they are also often known as binary files.

While in KeepandShare the uploaded files cannot be directly viewed or edited, they can be shared and downloaded. When you download them they can either be saved to your PC's disk, or viewed in your PC's browser window. Browser based viewing works surprisingly well for many file types - making it seem as if you can view the document directly within KeepandShare.

To store a PC native file in KeepandShare simply go to the document application and choose the "Upload Files" command. You'll be prompted to select a folder to store the file in and then you'll be able to browse your PC to select up to 5 files to upload at a single time . For each file you can provide an optional KeepandShare name for the file.

Alternatively, to save the step of selecting the folder, when in folder view, you'll see the <upload files> command by every folder name. Clicking on this command will upload files right into the same folder.
