Friends List

The Friends List is a list of KeepandShare account account names that you want to 'keep at your fingertips' to make it easy to share with them and / or to visit their accounts.

Accessing the Friends List

All management of the Friends List is done using the Friends panel. To display the panel, either:

  1. Click on the blue 'Friends' link under the Sharing control.
  2. Or, click on the 'Friends' link on the blue bar.

You are now viewing the Friends List.

Managing the Friends List

Only valid KeepandShare accounts can be added to the Friends List. If you want to share with others who do not yet have a KeepandShare account, use the 'Invite a Friend' command to create free accounts for your them by pasting in a list of emails.

Adding Friends

If your friends already have KeepandShare accounts:

  1. Click 'Friends' on the blue bar.
  2. Click on the 'Find Friends' button the Friends panel. It displays a pop up.
  3. Type a full email address or the account name or a few characters of both first name and last name.
  4. Click Search.
  5. KeepandShare displays a list of matching accounts. Click on the blue name of the account you want to add to your friends list.
You can also add friends by clicking on the blue 'Find Friends' link under the Sharing control.

If your friends do not have KeepandShare accounts:

  1. Use the Invite a Friend command to create free accounts for them.
  2. OR, issue thems Guest Passes by pasting their emails into the sharing control.
  3. In both cases they will be automatically added to your friends list.
Deleting Friends

To delete friends from the list, check their name and click 'Delete Selected Friends'.

Finding Friends

Here is the find friends pop up. Note that you can type in either a full email address, OR the first few letters of a account name, OR, the first few letters of both the first and last name.

Here you see find friends with matching results displayed when you type a few letters of the user name - note that the results are matched on the account names in black in the parentheses:

Here are matching results when you type part of two names - the results match on the users' first and last name fields. Typing 'j smith' returns all accounts where the first name starts with 'j' and the last name starts with 'smith':

Here are matching results when you type more letters as part of the first name. Typing 'jo smith' returns all accounts where the first name starts with 'jo' and the last name starts with 'smith':

Here the user is both adding the person as a friend and assigning them to a share group at the same time:

Visiting Friends' Accounts to View Shared Information

You can visit friends' accounts a variety of ways but the principle method is to close out of any open dialogs, and click on "Visit Friends' Shares" in the left panel.
