KeepandShare as Content Management System

Use Live 'Embedding' of KeepandShare

Almost every element of KeepandShare can be embedded into other website pages such as blogs and company or community websites. KeepandShare provides you with a complete suite of website elements or 'widgets'.

By using KeepandShare to host portions of your website you gain the advantages of a "Content Management System": your KeepandShare account hosts the information and the information can be easily updated inside your KeepandShare account by non-technical users. All edits are instantly reflected in any web pages that embed the KeepandShare information.

You can also do traditional URL linking from your web pages to any information in your KeepandShare account.

How To Embed

First, set the sharing to be 'Public' on the information you want to embed - since you are embedding onto your public website, your embedded information should be publicly viewable - otherwise your web visitors will be prompted to log into KeepandShare to view your information.

Second, copy the 'Embed' code we provide you in a gray boxes.

Read below for an overview of all the ways you can use KeepandShare to make your website more powerful and easier to maintain.

Embed Calendars

For instance, you can embed a calendar on your chamber of commerce's stand alone website (see samples). You can even customize the colors of your embedded calendar. Here is an example of a calendar embedded on a dark brown web page:

To embed calendars, click on 'Customize & Share', use the drop down to pick the view your embedded calendar will display, and copy the 'Embed' code from the gray box. If you want a lot of control over how the embedded calendar looks, click on 'Create Embedded Day Scroll' from the same screen - you'll be able to control color, layout, size and more. Embed Folders in Web Pages

It's easy to host a library of files on your web page. Just place the files into a KeepandShare folder and embed the folder on your web page. Learn more about embedding folders.

Embed Documents in Web Pages

You can seamlessly embed a KeepandShare web word processing document into a web page. The benefit is that a non-technical user can then edit the KeepandShare document to update web page text instantly. Learn more about embedding documents.

Embed PDF Documents in Web Pages

Upload a PDF document into your account. Then click on the PDF file name. On the next 'Download a File' screen you'll see some gray code boxes. Copy out the gray 'embed' code and paste it into your web page. You will have the PDF file displayed within an iFrame on your web page. Adjust the width and height parameters of the iFrame as you please - we suggest making the width wide enough so there is no horizontal scroll bar.

Embed Photos and Photo Albums

To embed photos or photo albums, view the photo or album and copy the 'Embed' code from the gray box at the bottom. Use the 'Embed All' code to embed a view of all photo albums. An artist could publish photo albums of their work so that the albums appear in scrolling windows on the artist's stand alone website. Learn more about photo embedding.
