KeepandShare Mobile Access

For iPads

KeepandShare fully supports the iPad. When you log in on an iPad, the normal full 'desktop' version of KeepandShare will run. You can access all of the KeepandShare functionality including full word processing.

For Smart Phones

KeepandShare is available in a Mobile Version that is fast & optimized for small screens. It's free, and it works great on Android phone, iPhones, iPods and BlackBerries, so you can access your information on the go. Access, share and collaborate on all your content from anywhere - calendar, to do lists, photos, documents, & more.

Watch this video for an overview:

How to Access

  1. Point your mobile phone/iPad browser at www.keepandshare.com.
  2. KeepandShare automatically detects you are using a mobile device and gives you the choice to log in using the mobile version of KeepandShare.
  3. Once you are logged in, you will not have to log in again for many accesses.
  4. If the mobile version does not appear automatically, point your browser at "keepandshare.com/m" -- note the "/m" at the end!

Adding New Information

In the File application, Address and To Do, you can add new text notes by scrolling to the bottom of the screens - you'll find an 'Add' box that lets you prepend or append some text.

In File you can also create 'Smartphone Documents', which are plain text (no formatting), but can be created and edited on smart phones, iPads, laptops, and desktop computers. Smartphone documents allow you to keep simple notes that you can edit from any device.

To create a new smart phone document:

  • When using a normal computer ('desktop view'), give a New Document command and in the resulting dialog, choose 'New Smartphone Document' from the left side (learn more)
  • Or, in mobile KeepandShare, view a folder in the 'File' application. At the bottom of the folder are two boxes for the name and contents of the document. Enter information into them and tap the button 'Add a New Smartphone Document'.

Upload Photos by Emailing Them into your Account

Use KeepandShare's powerful feature of uploading photos via email to upload photos directly from your mobile device.

Public Calendars

When smart phone users are not logged in and they try to view a public KeepandShare calendar using the normal KeepandShare website, a "Smart Phone Viewer" button appears - they can tap this button to switch into the mobile version of KeepandShare.

Native Applications

Native applications for the iPhone, iPad and Android phones are in development. They will provide great access to and editing of KeepandShare calendars. Watch for their availability in the Summer of 2012.

Cookies Must be Enabled

KeepandShare, like all other cloud-based web apps, requires that your browser turn on 'cookies'.

  • iPhone: You can enable cookies by going to the iPhone's Settings app, then Safari -> Accept Cookies, and setting it to 'From Visited' or 'Always'.
  • Android:
    1. If your web browser is not already running, you need to start it by selecting the Browser application on your phone.
    2. Once the web browser is started, push the "Menu" button on your phone. This brings up the options for the current application that is running. In this case, the "Go", "Bookmarks", "New window", "Refresh","Forward" and "More" options will become available. Select on the "More" option.
    3. Under the "More" option, you can now select some of the web browser functions. Select the "Settings" function.
    4. The "Settings" functions is where you will find most of the options to control the Android web browser. Scroll down until you find the "Accept cookies" option. Make sure the box next to it is checked to enable cookies for the web browser.

Limitations

Because mobile phones do not allow rich-text editing in their browsers (i.e., word processing style editing with fonts), the mobile version of KeepandShare does not provide our full web word processor or the ability to edit your calendar day boxes. Instead, we allow you the ability to quickly add simple text notes and events and to create/edit 'smart phone documents' which are plain text.
