Easy One-Page Guide to Sharing

Follow these steps to quickly share your information:

First, decide if you want to share your information 'publicly' or 'privately'. Public information is easy to share because anyone can access your public information without requiring their own KeepandShare account.

  1. To share publicly, set the 'Share With' control to the 'Public' group. Find the 'Share With' control by editing your document or clicking 'customize' on your calendar, or clicking on 'Share Folder'.

Private sharing is easy to set up, just follow these steps:

  1. Log into your KeepandShare account
  2. Make sure your friends who have KeepandShare accounts are already on your Friends list. For people who do not yet have their own free KeepandShare account, use the 'Invite a Friend' command to create free accounts for them, which creates free accounts instantly and cross-links your accounts via each other's Friends lists.
  3. Create a share group, placing checks next to the friends you want to have in that share group.
  4. Edit your document or click 'customize' on your calendar, or click on 'Share Folder' and set the 'Share With' control to the new share group you've defined for your friends.

Lastly, now tell your friends to visit you at your share page by pointing their web browser URL bar at you with your KeepandShare user account name as follows:

johnsmith.keepandshare.com
(put your username instead of 'johnsmith').

When they see your share page, they will be shown any public information without having to log in or even have a KeepandShare account. But if you have shared information with them privately, they will be prompted to log in, to validate they have the right to see your privately-shared information.
