Use Hidden Files to Archive Information

Whenever you mark a KeepandShare document "hidden," it is subsequently hidden from your view unless you ask for hidden documents to be displayed.

Hiding files is a great way to archive information out of sight (and our of your way) without really getting rid of it. Hiding works for addresses, discussions, documents, favorites, and photo blogs. Hiding works very well with the "Copy Document" command to quickly make and hide a copy of your document.

Hiding is much safer than deleting because you can always un hide an document, but once an document is deleted it's gone forever.

1. To hide an document, edit the document and then check the "Hide document" checkbox (located in the bottom left area of edit controls):

Then save the document. It will now be hidden - it does not show up in the folder's list of contents.

2. To view hidden documents, first display them by checking the "hidden" checkbox in the showbar:

The folder will then display only its hidden contents, marking the documents as "**HIDDEN**" to highlight their special status:

3. To un hide any of these hidden documents, click on the blue Edit command and uncheck the "Hide document" box and save the document.

Note that hidden files still retain their "Share With" settings, so visitors to your account can still see the hidden file if they check "hidden" on their show bar.
