Using the Show Bar to Display and Find To Dos

The show bar controls which lists and To Do items are displayed. It is your tool to control exactly what is displayed and to help you find your information quickly.

If checked, the "all lists " checkbox displays all lists 'opened up' with their To Do items displayed. If unchecked, then only the lists' names are displayed. You may then click on any list name to 'drill down' and see only its contents, or check the "all lists" box to see all lists' contents.

The "order" drop down controls the display order of the To Dos. You can choose between Priority, List, and Start Date. (if you've turned on Expert Options you'll also have three more settings). This is a powerful command used in conjunction with the "all lists" control. For instance, if you check All Lists and then choose the Start Date order, you will see all of your To Dos displayed in order of their start date.

The "status" drop down controls whether Current, Future or Finished To Do items are displayed. If you want to see everything you've completed, choose the Finished status. Future will display To Do items that have not been completed and have a start date later than today's date.

The "" checkbox displays only To Do items that have their gold star turned on.

To search, simply type one or more words into the search box and click on the Search button. Results are instantly displayed. To clear the search, click on the that appears next to the Search box.

Lastly, the "sharing" checkbox displays sharing information. If an item has been shared the 'sharing icon' share icon appears next to it, and the name of the person(s) it is shared with appear to the right. In the following display, you can see the To Do item "get pc-based " has been shared with 'andrea' and that she has editing rights:
