What Copy and Paste Can and Cannot Do

KeepandShare works quite well with standard Windows and MacIntosh Copy and Paste commands. You can copy and paste to and from most web pages and word processing documents without a problem.

If the selection you are copying includes photos, the photos will not copy directly into KeepandShare documents or photo blogs. You must separately upload the photos into KeepandShare (or other photo sites) and then 'insert' the photos into your KeepandShare document.

If you are pasting from Microsoft Word, we strongly encourage you to use this paste icon, which cleans the Word text of confusing HTML formatting instructions:

Alternatively, if you have already pasted in from Word and you want to clean up the pasted text, in the Firefox browser you can right click and choose 'Remove all formats.'

If you are having problems copying other word processing file formats (such as complex Word Perfect documents) you might want to first try saving them in Microsoft Word format and opening them in Microsoft Word before copying.

There are several varieties of paste command icons in KeepandShare's icon bar - click here to learn more about them.
