Similar to other state-of-the-art cloud computing services, when you store your data in KeepandShare, it is safer than in your own computer. Your own computer is subject to theft, loss, crashes, viruses and the like.
KeepandShare protects your data in numerous ways:
- We have a secure, state-of-the-art data center with HVAC, huge Internet connections to speed your use, fire suppression systems, etc... all designed to give you maximal performance and reliability.
- We have a long record of maximum uptime and performance without a hitch since 2004.
- Our networking is fully redundant (port bonding, multiple switches, multiple routers, in multiple racks).
- Diesel generators provide instant on power back-up.
- 24-hour staff on-site at our physical data center for security and support, locked cabinets.
- We maintain 24-hour remote monitoring of infrastructure, servers, virtual servers, operating system, and application processes.
- In addition to on-site and off-site backups our servers have synchronously replicated storage (i.e., real-time backups). Your data is continuously backed up ('replicated') in real time to 5 separate systems. In the event of a catastrophic hardware failure, virtual servers are restarted on the alternate hardware with no lost emails, transactions, or data.
Security
KeepandShare's primary mission is the security of your information. By default, all information in your account is private to you, and only viewable and accessible by you. You always control who can see what. Unless you set the sharing control to give others access, everything in your account can only be viewed by logging in with your password.
If you do want to allow others to view and/or edit some information, KeepandShare offers the web's best privacy controls. Each calendar, file, to do list, photo album in your account can have it's own unique privacy settings. You can even set the sharing controls at the folder or folder-set level. You have unparalleled power and flexibility in controlling your sharing.
Upgrade to Run HTTPS Security for Your Full Session
In KeepandShare accounts that upgrade to a paid plan level, all activity is fully encrypted by industry strength HTTPS, protecting you from eavesdropping.
Encryption makes it very difficult for unauthorized people to view information traveling between computers. HTTPS encryption is used by sites such as banks and online stores to protect your important personal information. Your browser will display a special green bar to indicate the full browser session with KeepandShare is HTTPS encrypted.
With HTTPS, every page of KeepandShare is encrypted before being transmitted over the Internet, both when you are logged into your Premium account, and when your shared information is accessed by others. Visitors working on shared information in your account will also have full HTTPS encryption the entire time they are working with your information.
