Receive Mobile Text Messages from KeepandShare
Your account now includes another free upgrade from KeepandShare. You can add mobile phone numbers and have KeepandShare send you reminders and emails to your phone as text messages.

Calendar Overlays: Dramatic Improvements
Calendar overlays have new features and ease of use. Watch this video for a quick introduction:
- Manage from left panel: click on a calendar in the left panel and there is a small Manage Overlays command just below the calendar name.
- Easily add new overlays: click Manage Overlays and then 'Add/Remove' to create new overlays or delete existing overlays.
- Control overlay order: if you have multiple overlays you can change the order they display in by clicking Manage Overlays and then use the gray arrows.
- Many kinds of overlays: the Add/Remove command lets you create overlays based on holidays, other calendars in your account, calendars in other accounts that are shared with you, and iCalendar feeds from web based calendars such as Google calendar and Exchange.
- Control overlay appearance: Click on an overlay to easily change its color. You can also choose to have the overlay appear with all of its original colors and text formatting. You can also control whether or not the overlay shows its calendar icons and photos.

Your KeepandShare Account Now Provides Online Databases
KeepandShare has a new type of 'document' called 'Tables'. Each table is an online database: create, manage and edit web-based 'tables' with dozens or thousands of rows of information.
- Tables are a great way to manage lists and 'flat files' of all kinds such as membership rosters, address lists, check lists, small 'databases', project data, expense logs, and more. By keeping the information online, you can edit it directly in your account without downloading and uploading files.
- Publish databases on any webpage by embedding tables right in the web page. Your web visitors can view, sort, scroll and print the table, whether it's 20 or 5,000 rows!
- Tables also provide KeepandShare's terrific PDF printing support. Also, you can easily import 'CSV' files from Excel and Filemaker.

Improved Mobile Version for Smart Phones & Tablets
You can now create and edit repeating events using smart phones such as iPhone and Android, and tablets such as the iPad. Watch this video to see how.
- In the calendar, tap any existing event with your finger to edit it, or tap the 'Add Event' button to create a new calendar event.
- In the 'File' application, smartphones and iPads also can now:
- Create new 'smartphone' documents on the fly (simple plaintext notepads).
- Add text to any existing document (prepend or append).

Add a Customized Calendar to your Website
Did you know you can easily publish any KeepandShare calendar on any webpage? You can, and it's a great way to publish public schedules, because all it takes is two steps:
- Copy the 'embed code' for your calendar and paste it into your web page (learn how).
- Thereafter, any edits you make to your calendar are instantly visible on your website. This means non-technical users can update the calendar without needing to change the website itself.
Yesterday we added a new interactive calendar customization tool. You can change the colors of your embedded calendar in real time with no programming. Try the new tool by clicking on 'Customize & Share' and then 'Embed Calendar'. Or watch this calendar embedding video.

We've just given KeepandShare a pretty substantial update.
We've worked long and hard to make this the fastest, most usable and best-looking version of KeepandShare ever. We'll continue improving KeepandShare to make it better and better for you, but here's the scoop on the top new features in KeepandShare:
- Gray application tabs moved to Left Panel. Click in the left panel interface to access your applications.
- More screen space for you. The left panel leaves more of your screen for viewing and working with your information. Click
to hide the left panel - Select multiple files and documents for a command. When you view a folder the files all have a check box to the left. Click in one or more of these check boxes and then give a single command such as 'Copy' or 'Share' to act on all the selected documents.
- Nest folders into 'folder sets' for another level of organization. The left panel provides up to 4 'folder sets' to organize your folders into groups such as 'work' and 'home'.
- Streamlined Visiting. The left panel's Visit Friends' Shares tab displays your friends list and everything they are sharing with you, so you can now find and access shared information faster.
- View all calendars and calendar overlays in left panel. The left panel displays all the calendars in your account with their assigned names, and within each calendar all overlays are displayed for easy toggling on and off.
- Easy renaming. By clicking
you can rename calendars, folder sets and foldersin the left panel. - Create multiple types of documents. The 'New Document' command lets you pick from several different kinds of document such as 'rich text' and 'plain text'. More document types will be added in coming months. The right side of the New Document dialog lets you choose from reusable 'stationery'.
- Create and use document 'stationery' templates. You can easily define your own stationery templates so they are available for use when you create new documents.
- New 'Plain text' documents. Plain text documents are pure 'ASCII' documents without any formatting (similar to 'notepad' in windows). They can be edited on smart phones and ipads.
- Set sharing at the folder set level with
so that all folders have the same sharing. This is particularly useful in the Address application where you can now share the 'A-Z' folders. - Photo Library and Photo Albums have top level application tabs. Photo album and library functionality was previously combined under one 'Photo' tab - they are now separated for easier and faster access to each.
- Photo Library Enhancements. You can now set sharing on your Photo library to give another person access to your entire library. You can also filter by more than one tag at a time, e.g., filter to find all photos tagged with "Summer Vacation" and "Susan" and "Vermont".

HTTPS Full Session Security.
Premium accounts now use an 'HTTPS' encrypted connection for the entire time the Premium account user is logged in.
HTTPS is advanced browser encryption, and it provides excellent protection against eavesdropping. Every page of KeepandShare is encrypted before being transmitted over the Internet. HTTPS encryption is used by sites such as banks and online stores to protect your important personal information.
Upgrade to a Premium account if you'd like to have your all of your account communications encrypted, giving yourself the highest level of protection.

Improved Calendar Editing. The KeepandShare calendar editor has many new features, including:
- A new Day Editor combines overlays, events and day text in a single pop up so you can see your entire day at once.
- The word processor icon bar is displayed bar at the bottom of the pop up so you can see your events and day text next to each other.
- New options for repeating events: Weekly events can now be defined to repeat on 1-7 days of the week by checking boxes for Mon, Tues, Wed etc. Daily, Weekly & Monthly events can repeat across multiple years.
- You can define multiple events in a quick sequence by clicking 'OK & New'.
- Event text can now be styled in 9 colors instead of 6, and the colors include black text for those who want to conserve color ink in their color printers.
- Spell checking: use the "Toggle spell checker" icon to catch typos in your day text.
- Event sorting: if you want your event to sort to the top of the event list, begin it with the '@' character.
- Add hyperlinks to events: Premium account owners can add hyperlinks to events.

Five New Calendar Features. The calendar print dialog has three new features:
- Include Extra Days: if checked then month view printouts includes a few days of the preceding and following months. Clear this box if you want only this month's days to print.
- Paper Size: pick a paper size and the calendar will fill it. Try month view in Legal - it looks great! Supported sizes include Letter & Legal for the U.S. and A4, A5 & B5 for Europe.
- Save as File: the calendar PDF will be saved as a file instead of opening as a tab in your browser. If your browser is having problems with Adobe Acrobat plug in software, use this feature to put your calendar PDF directly to your hard drive.
In addition, Premium accounts have gained 2 new features:
- Premium accounts now have 30 calendars, compared to 9 in Calendar Pro.
- The Automatic Backups now keep 60 backups in your Premium account compared to 20 in Calendar Pro.
Even if you already have a Calendar Pro account, you can upgrade to Premium and receive full credit for any unused portion of your Calendar Pro subscription.

You can now upload photos and files into your account by sending emails with attachments. Adding photos and files to your account is now easier than ever. You can even allow your friends to email photos and files, use a smart phone to email photos, and it's all secure, and fully in your control.
It's all controlled by the new Email Settings screen, and here are help screens on how to email photos and email files into your account. Watch these videos on using email settings and uploading photos and files.

The 'Docs & Files' tab is now named 'File'. Last night we made a small change to KeepandShare, but we don't want you to be surprised by it. All your folders and information are completely unchanged. The new name of the tab better reflects that the File tab is used for storing many different kinds of files, including great web word processing documents.

You can now share with others even if they do not have a KeepandShare account. Type or paste an email address into the white box 'sharing field' of a Sharing Control. KeepandShare will send a 'Guest Pass' to that email address, giving them a direct link and password to your shared information.
Guest pass sharing provides all the privacy of secure KeepandShare group sharing with the simplicity of sharing with anyone in the world -- all they need is an email address! See this help screen or watch this 1-minute video to learn more.

New Calendar Editor Window Features. We just enhanced the calendar's pop-up editor window in several ways. It has a new 'expand' & 'contract' button that allows you to adjust the window's size. It automatically opens in larger sizes in week and day views and opens right over the day in which you click. It also has new 'next day' and 'previous day' commands. 'Automatic Backups' for Calendars. Ever worry about losing important calendar information due to accidental deletions? Our new Automatic Backups feature is for you! It allows you to schedule automatic calendar backups as frequently as every night. It also gives you an easy 'restore' command to revert your calendar to any of up to 20 previous versions. Backups are also useful if you just want to have a 'time machine' to view a previous version of your calendar.

KeepandShare Photo has powerful new features, all oriented around keeping your photo library and albums 'neat and tidy'.
A new 'Manage Photos' screen allows you to perform bulk delete & edit operations on your photos. Search for all photos that match your criteria and you can then delete them all, or apply an edit operation such as assigning tags to them. Just click on Photo Library, then on 'Manage Photos'.
Easily find 'orphan' photos. When a photo has not been placed in any albums, we call it an 'orphan'. The 'New Album' and 'Manage Photo' commands both now include a checkbox to show only photos that do not appear in any albums.
Upload 10mb original photo files. Premium accounts now have a new option - whenever you 'edit' a photo, you can now upload the original image file, even if it's 10mb in size! The uploaded original is associated with the photo in your library and albums and subsequently available as a 'Download Original' button.
'Deep Delete'. When you edit an album, you now have the option to not only delete the album, but also all the photos in the album, by using the 'Delete Album & Photos' button. All photos in the album will be completely removed from your Photo Library.

Manage Your To Do Lists!. We're pleased to announce that we recently made a major upgrade to the To Do list application in KeepandShare. To do lists now include rapid entry of new items, 'drag and drop' ease of use, email reminders and optional start and due dates.

Take the Day Off! Many of you have requested the ability to have your repeating events 'skip' a date, for instance, when your weekly Wednesday bowling team skips the week of Thanksgiving. You can now skip repeating event dates by clicking any existing repeating event, then clicking 'Delete this Day'.

Short URLs Save Space in Emails and Twitter. Linking into your KeepandShare shares from emails & Twitter is easier with the new 'Short URL for Email and Twitter' gray link box, which provides very short URLs in the form of 'http://kvisit.com/SvoNq'. Just edit any document, file or album, and click 'Save and Exit' to see the Short URL. Short URLs are good for pasting into emails, tweets, chat sessions and the like where space is at a premium.

Embedded Calendars Now Speak 12 Languages. It's easy as pie to copy a code script onto any web page to publish a KeepandShare calendar on any website, blog, or web page. But what if your website is in Spanish, French, or German? No problem, we've just added the ability for embedded calendars to display all their buttons and menu text in 12 different languages. You can pick your language from a drop down menu when you are getting your embedded calendar code. The language is specified by a simple parameter '&lang=fr' for French, for example. Replace Uploaded Files while Preserving their URLs. Once you've uploaded a file and given the URL to other people (or put the URL on some web pages), you sometimes want to replace the file but make sure the URL stays the same. No problem. Just click on the blue 'edit' command next to the file and you can replace the file on the server with one from your computer by following the directions on the 'edit' screen.

Hide Details in your Calendar Text. We're excited to announce a very cool new KeepandShare feature. KeepandShare now supports hiding details on your calendar. You can now put all of your details on your calendar without cluttering up your calendar! How? By putting your details between the the square bracket characters: "[" and "]". For example:
11:30 lunch [John, Mary, Bob, and Sue have confirmed]
Will appear as
11:30 lunch *
To see the details either hover your mouse over the * or click anywhere in the day box.
There is also a powerful twist on hide details that allows you to have two different versions of your calendar details - a private version and a public version. We call this command our 'Private | Public Details' feature. Learn more by consulting the help screen and a page of samples.

Group Reminder Emails Made Easy. There is now a checkbox titled 'Send a copy to all shares' on both the Repeating Events dialog and also on the calendar's 'Email this Calendar' command (in the Customize & Share screen). Check this box and then the generated emails will be copied to every KeepandShare user with whom you have shared the calendar. This is a great way to send out group reminder emails!

We've just added green circles with a white plus sign to every day box in your calendar. They make it much easier to add repeating events. When you click on the green circle the repeating event dialog defaults to 'Daily' mode and has the 'Starting on' and 'Ending on' dates set to the same day in which you clicked. This makes it very easy to set an event on a single day.

Your KeepandShare Calendar Can Now Email You. Repeating events can now email you a reminder of the event. For instance, if your Mother's birthday is on April 7th, you can set up her birthday repeating event to email you several days in advance every year - so you have time to send a card and flowers. Use event reminders for regular meetings, birthdays, anniversaries, and special events of all kinds.
In addition, the calendar's new 'Email this Calendar to Me' command allows you to have up to 7 days of your calendar emailed to you on a daily or weekly basis. It's a great way to get a copy of your calendar for use in your email system or to forward to others.

We've just added two new ways to view calendars. Event view presents your calendar in a column of wide day boxes so you have lots of room for you calendar entries. Also, event view hides empty days, so you can see more of your schedule. To use event view, click on 'Events' on your calendar's blue command bar, or the 'month view' drop down on the yellow bar. Try it now! Event view is an especially good view choice for embedding into your websites or blogs.
Many of you have asked for a way to customize the calendars you embed into your websites and blogs. So we've also just added embeddable 'day scrolls'. Click on 'Customize & Share' and choose 'Create Embedded Day Scroll', which gives you a configuration screen. You'll be able to control color, layout, size and more. It's fun to experiment with since your design instantly updates with each change. When you have a design you like, copy out the link code to embed your custom calendar design on your web page.

We've just added new commands to export or erase your calendar. You can find these commands by clicking on the 'Customize & Share' button in your calendar.
The export command can be used to make a backup copy of your calendar on your PC or Mac hard drive for backup or transfer purposes. The new 'Clean up this calendar' command will erase a portion or all of one of your 9 built-in calendars. It's a great way to erase calendar data and start over fresh. Click here to learn more.

Calendar Improvements. The KeepandShare calendar now supports many ways to highlight your important dates. Click in any calendar day box and you now have a pop-up editor window that allows you to choose the font, size, color, and highlight color for your text. You can even put lists and hyperlinks into your calendar text. The arrangement and layout of the calendar screen was also improved to give you more useable space to view your calendar.

Photo Application - Downloads Album and Copy Album Commands. KeepandShare Photo has just been enhanced with new album download and copy commands. The download command will download all photos in an album as a ZIP file to your PC or Mac. The album copy command makes a copy of a friend's album into your own account, including copying all the album photos into your account. These commands are available exclusively to our paid subscribers.

You Can Now Receive Emails the Moment a Friend Shares with You. KeepandShare has added New 'Hourly' and 'Immediate' Options for Dashboard Emails. By choosing 'Hourly' or 'Immediate' you'll receive quick, email-based notification whenever your friends have posted new information or comments for you. Click here to choose your new setting. We made several improvements to calendar printing this weekend:
- You now have the option to print your calendar in color. How can you get color in your calendar? By using either repeating events or calendar overlays you gain powerful new features and these events on your calendar will appear in color. If you'd like your calendar print out to include color, simply uncheck the box titled 'Print color as black and white' in the calendar print dialog.
- In week view, the print dialog includes a new check box 'Include weekends'. If you uncheck this box, your week will print out with only Monday through Friday.
- In the month view print dialog, 'Layout 2' is now the new default, giving smaller black date numbers in the boxes of the month printout. You can still choose 'Layout 1' to get the large gray date numbers.

Available for free, KeepandShare's secure file sharing website allows individuals and groups to quickly upload files from their PC or Mac. List Application Renamed 'ToDo'. We are renaming the 'List' application to be 'ToDo' to better reflect what the application does (it manages To Do lists!). The functionality of the application is unchanged. The first change you'll notice is that the gray tab formerly called 'List' is now 'ToDo'. In the coming days we'll update the help system to reflect this change.

Lastly, day view printing spans multiple pages - you'll find that we now print out 100% of the text in each day box rather than just the first page.

Your calendar just got easier to use. The KeepandShare calendar now auto-saves all your edits, so the blue 'Save' button is no longer necessary and has been removed. The calendar automatically saves your edits every 15 seconds once you've moved the cursor from one day-box to another. It also auto-saves whenever you navigate to different screens within the calendar and KeepandShare.

Auto Backup Protects Your Data Every 15 Seconds. Today we made a great improvement to KeepandShare. Auto Backup is a feature of the Document, Photoblog, Discuss and Address applications that helps ensure you never lose more than a few seconds of work due to PC crashes or accidentally closing your browser window before giving KeepandShare's "Save" command.
How it Works: KeepandShare automatically backups your document every 15 seconds while you are actively editing a document, photoblog or address. Then, if you do ever accidentally lose your edits before you've clicked on one of the 'Save' commands, the next time you edit the document you'll be present with the option of accepting the more recent Auto Backup version.
How to Know it is Working: You will notice the yellow and red message 'Auto Backup' flashes in the title area of the document you are editing, and a gray 'Auto Backup time stamp' appears above the 'Save and Exit' button.
