Private and Public Sharing

KeepandShare gives you complete & exact control over what is shared and what is kept completely private in your account.

  • 100% Private by Default: until you set sharing, 100% of the information in your account is private to you and can only be viewed with your password. If you are using KeepandShare for your own access only, you're set!
  • Private Sharing: your information can be viewed by a specific list of individuals and groups.
  • Public Sharing: your information can be viewed by the whole world-wide-web without them needing their own KeepandShare accounts.
  • Precision control: everything in your account can have its own share settings. Share a folder of files with three co-workers but only let your spouse see your calendar.
  • Edit Rights: shared items can only be viewed by others, unless you check the 'Allow Edit' box.

You always control who sees what. Private sharing means others must enter a password to prove they are allowed to view and/or edit your shared information.

Flexible Privacy Controls

Strong Privacy Controls

Remember, you always control who sees what. Everything in your account is private by default. But if you want, you can share selected items on a private or public basis.

Easy Set Up

Setting up private sharing is easy. Paste a list of email addresses into 'Invite a Friend'. Your colleagues will instantly have free login accounts linked to your account. You can now type their names into your sharing control.

Friends Do Not Need KeepandShare Accounts

Paste your friends' email addresses into any sharing control. They are emailed a 'guest pass' with a secure link and password to your shares. It's that easy.

'Share Groups'

Easily place friends' names into different 'share groups' and give the groups names like 'staff' or 'book club'. You can then share with these groups or any individuals from your friends list.

Optional Edit Rights

Control exactly whom is allowed to edit. Most of the time you'll just allow others to 'view' your shared items.

Automatic Notifications

All sharees are instantly notified of any new or changed information with clickable 'dashboard notifications' in their account. They can also opt to have these notifications sent to them via email or text message.

Share Entire Folders

Set sharing controls on an individual file level or share entire folders at a time to securely collaborate with clients, colleagues, and friends.

Detailed History

The 'history' button and visitor reports tell you a complete history of who has done what in your account. Notice that Suzy viewed a document at 3:20 pm today and Henry has posted a new comment at 4:11 pm.

Smart Phone Support

Mobile KeepandShare works great on smart phones and iPads -- both for viewing shared information and to receive automatic notifications and reminders via text messages or email.

Email Safety

We never give any email addresses out to any other companies. Your email address and your friends' are safe with us.

Everything is Sharable

We built KeepandShare in 2004 from the ground up, using our proprietary sharing technology. Everything in KeepandShare has a sharing control.

Is KeepandShare a Social Network?

No! A better description is KeepandShare is a private network for easy & secure private sharing for groups of people who already know each other. It's a place to get work done. It's for sharing digital material with those you are closely related to. It's not a place to meet people or find free stuff.

Click to Set Sharing

It's really pretty easy. Inside your account, on a calendar or any file or folder, set the 'sharing control' to one of these 3 states:

Sharing is
Not Set
Your information is not shared with anyone else - only you can see it when you are logged in to your account.
Sharing is Public Your information is shared with the public, so anyone on the web can view it without logging in.
Sharing is Private Your information is not visible to the public, it is only visible to the users and groups listed in the Sharing Control.
