Hey guys, has anyone ever built a driveway out of paving slabs? I'm wondering if it's worth trying it yourself or if it's better to hire professionals to ensure everything is laid flat and durable?

I did some of it myself, some with the help of friends. The key is preparing the base: crushed stone, sand, and proper leveling. If you do everything hastily, the tiles will start to come apart and quickly lose their appearance.

When we decided to renovate our entryway, we weren't sure where to start. We looked at different installation methods and tile options to ensure a beautiful and practical look. Our main conclusion: preparing the base is everything. We laid a layer of crushed stone, leveled it, then a sand bed, and only then did we lay the tiles. Honestly, it was much easier and faster than I expected, but it was important to maintain order and precision. The website https://oakshs.ca/driveway-interlocking/ helped us choose the right materials and details. It details the preparation and installation steps, along with recommendations for tile thickness and proper jointing. The end result is a level entryway, water drains quickly, snow is easy to clean, and the tiles don't sag even in severe frost. This experience has shown that attention to detail and proper preparation are half the battle in long-lasting interlocking.
