Yeah, I don't believe that people who, say, hit a cyclist or a pedestrian leave the scene intentionally or out of malice. I've read posts and articles where commenters openly condemn the person who fled the scene, although to me it's a pretty logical reaction. I mean... I don't want to excuse anyone, but most likely people are in such a state of shock, stress, and fear that they aren't fully aware of what they're doing and don't understand what to do next. On the other hand, if you're a cyclist, it's important to protect yourself as well. It helped me to find this company bicycleaccidentlawyers.com. The attorneys who handle bicycle accident cases specifically also take on cases where the other party left the scene. It's just in case I get unlucky one day, but at least I'll know exactly who to call, what to do, and all that.

I think it’s panic, fear, not knowing what to do. A lot of people just don’t know what they’re supposed to do in case of an accident. It’s like we deliberately avoid all these rules, hoping it won’t affect us.

I never understood it. They’ll find you anyway. Is it panic or what? If you were involved in an accident, at least stay. Especially if someone else got hurt because of you. At least help them by making the whole bureaucratic process faster and easier.
