Many people are tempted by tools that claim to offer insights into social media profiles, but there are often privacy, security, and ethical concerns. What are the key factors users should evaluate before relying on a third-party viewer — like safety, data retention, or legality — and how do you personally decide whether such a tool is worth using?

Before using any third-party viewer, I always check whether it asks for my Instagram password or forces me to install something. If it does, that’s a red flag. When I tried https://viewverio.com/ it didn’t require any login or permissions, which made it feel safer to test. For me, the biggest concern is protecting my account, so a tool that works without access to my profile is already a better option.
