WHAT'S IN A NAME?
"That which we call A rose by another name would smell as sweet." Shakespeare's irrefutable logic can also be applied to the "Rose of Sharon". Jesus by any other name is just as sweet. Our Lord is still the saviour who died on the cross whether we call him Jesus or Yahshua. As I was writing this, I thought about my brother whose given name is Ronald. I have always called my brother "Buzzy" but he has never cared. What matters to him is that I'm his sister. As a child, I would try to say "brother" but it would always come out "Buzzy". Other people may call Buzzy by his right name but that has nothing to do with our relationship. Our fellowship does not depend upon how I pronounce his name but is based upon our family ties, mutual affection and trust. It doesn't matter to us if there are hundreds of scoundrels around the world named Buzzy ...when I say "Buzzy" even the family dog knows who I'm talking about. Friends, wouldn't it be nice if things were this simple in the household of faith? The fact is that things are just that simple. "Our Lord Jesus does not care if I call Him Yahshua, nor would Yahshua care if I called Him Jesus. Our relationship with our Saviour is based upon the intent of our heart, not phonetics!" Donna Kupp "And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, WHICH KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD, AND HAVE THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS CHRIST." Rev 12:17 (KJV) |
