Martin Luther:  "Let Your Sins Be Strong"

"No sin can separate us from Him, even if we were to kill or commit adultery  thousands of times each day.  Do you think such an exalted Lamb paid merely a small price with a meager sacrifice for our sins?"  Let Your Sins Be Strong: A Letter From Luther to Melanchthon Letter no. 501, 1 August 1521, "Luther's Correspondence", Lutheran Publication Society, Philadelphia, 1918, II, p.50

Jesus Christ:  "If you would enter life, keep the commandments."  When asked Which?  Jesus referred directly to the Ten Commandments.  See Matthew  19:17-19

Jesus Christ:  Mat 18:8  If your hand or foot causes you to sin, chop it off and throw it away! You would be better off to go into life crippled or lame than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into the fire that never goes out.

Mat 18:9  If your eye causes you to sin, poke it out and get rid of it. You would be better off to go into life with only one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fires of hell. CEV*

We must follow the words of Jesus --and not the traditions of men.

* (We used the CEV translation because the KVJ word "offend" is not in common use today. It means to cause to stumble or sin.)
