SHOULD CHRISTIANS SUPPORT ISRAEL?
Is the nation of Israel an antichrist nation? If so should Christians support them?
I realize this is a question many might feel strongly about depending upon their view of Revelation and prophecy - but definitely worth discussing.
Here are some Biblical facts:
JOHN WROTE:
1Jn 2:21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
1Jn 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is ANTICHRIST, that denieth the Father and the Son.
1Jn 2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
We can be certain that the national religion of Israel rejects Jesus as the Messiah.
PAUL WROTE:
Rom 2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
Rom 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
It appears that Paul was saying that one is not a part of Israel by birth or circumcision of the flesh. That would mean that the true Israel of God are those who are circumcised in the heart - not flesh. Israel in the spirit - not physical.
Jesus said that the physical nation of Israel was to be left desolate.
JESUS:
Mat 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
Mat 23:38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
So, what do you think brothers and sisters? Should Christians support the nation of Israel or are we the new spiritual Israel of God?
