Many people say there is no evidence in the New Testament that Sabbath observance is a requirement for Gentile believers --but is that really true?                  


                     THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL

The everlasting gospel is the mystery of the kingdom of God.  It is to be preached to all men; and that gospel includes observing the seventh day Sabbath that makes a distinction between the Creator and all the gods of the heathen.  

“And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to EVERY NATION, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

Saying with a loud voice, FEAR GOD, AND GIVE GLORY TO HIM;  for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.”  Revelation 14:6-7

Those verses are referring  directly to keeping the Ten Commandments and specifically to the Sabbath Commandment.  For it is written:

“ … FEAR GOD, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”  Ecclesiastes 12:13

WE FEAR GOD when we depart from evil and walk in obedience to His Commandments:

“He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the LORD: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.” Proverbs 14:2

WE GIVE GLORY TO GOD when we rest from all our works as God did rest the seventh day from all his works.  The commandment reads:

Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Exodus 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

Exodus 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

Exodus 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

When we obey the Sabbath Commandment, we testify to the world that we have faith in the only true God and His Son, Jesus Christ by whom also He made the worlds;  That we depend upon His grace to live and move and have our being;  That we are a redeemed people, a new creation in Christ Jesus with the promise of eternal life.  

What matters is that Jews [circumcision] and Gentiles [uncircumcision] keep the commandments of God; that they have faith which worketh by love; and are a new creation.

And Jesus said unto them:

“ … The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.” Mark 2:27

The seventh day Sabbath was sanctified at Creation before sin entered the world.  It is a gift from the Creator to all mankind.
