Update received October 2010I just wanted to give an update on Boone (formally Cobain). He is doing wonderfully! He continues to be such a joy to me and to everyone who meets him! He's no longer being crated during the day and he does so well being left out(no chewing, no accidents!). I like being able to let him roam the house without being cooped up but every morning when I get ready for work and I shut the door between the living room and the bedrooms he immediately goes into the kennel (even through I've been letting him stay out! I find it so funny- he just walks right in there tail wagging the entire time.  He's really gotten into dog toys which is new as when he was fostered the foster mom said he didn't show much interest in toys (aside from a ball) and he wasn't interested in rawhides. Now he loves both! My family jokes that Boone has more toys than most kids but I can't help but spoil him a little! He finished basic obedience classes with flying colors and I am going to sign him up for advanced classes next. He is still learning to not pull on the leash but I think we'll eventually get there! His favorite thing continues to be our trips to the dog park and napping on the couch in the living room (two windows he can look out without having to lift his head!). Thanks ADR for giving him a chance at his forever home. I am thrilled to have him!

Update received July 2010:  I wanted to give you an update on Boone (formally Cobain). As you know Boone was found wandering the woods near Baxter, MN. They believe he had been on his own for a month or two before he wandered into someone's yard and wouldn't leave. A good Samaritan took him in and found a foster home for him (a wonderful woman who took awesome care of him named Deb). When they found Boone he had over a hundred ticks on him, malnourished and probably a little anemic. They cleaned him up, got him nuetered and soon he was ready for a forever home.  I specifically looked for a black lab mix because I know black dogs aren't often adopted- I read his story and knew I wanted to meet him. The next weekend I drove to meet him and Deb in Saint Cloud. As soon as I spent some time with him I knew I had to give him a home. A couple of weeks later I brought him home and in honor of his time in the wilderness I renamed him Boone (previously Cobain), after Daniel Boone. He's such a sweet dog. Many many people have commented on how handsome he is, and what a good looking dog he is but his personality is just as sweet. He's well mannered (although he loves to run after squirrels, rabbits, butterflies and flies!) and we are going through doggie obedience classes now to lean all the basic commands. He loves playing in the dog park. I try to get him there 3 or 4 times per week because it’s a good way to socialize him with other dogs and get him active on a regular basis. He also loves playing with my brother's dog, a beatufiul 85 lb chocolate lab. All and all I couldn't ask for a better 1st dog.  I love Boone. He is such a blessing to us, and so sweet. Thank you All Dogs Rescue for helping find him a forever home! I've attached a few pictures of him enjoying all the places we've been going (to the cabin, the dog park, etc).
