Home and School Volunteer Opportunities for Parents - Sign up here

_____________________________________________________________________________

The commitment of our parents to a child’s education and to the life of the school contributes

significantly to the success of our Catholic schools. You might like to think about which of these

opportunities would be a good fit for you and your schedule. Our goal is to break jobs down into ‘bite size’ pieces so every parent has the opportunity to volunteer. There is plenty to do during the school day, nights and weekends.

Homeroom Parents– Chairperson Needed!

Homeroom parents are those willing individuals that simply wait to be called upon by their child’s

teacher to do any number of tasks throughout the year. Many times, requests can even be filled by fulltime working moms and dads.

Teacher Luncheon Team – Volunteers Needed!

Do you enjoy cooking or trying new recipes? Then this is the team for you! On the first Friday of every month, the Luncheon Team provides a luncheon for the entire faculty. This is a great way to say “thank you” to our hard working staff, and to boost morale, by providing a great meal in a social setting. Volunteers are not required to attend the luncheon or to stay and serve. Rather, they can opt to send in a prepared dish or other needed item with their child. This is a great opportunity for busy parents who are unable to contribute spare time for other school activities to lend a helping hand.

Family Envelope Help - Volunteers Needed!

Help is needed on Wednesday mornings to fill the Family Envelopes.

The Principal’s Teams – even more choices!

The teams and committees listed below fall under the role of the Principal – not the Home and School Association.  I invite you to read the descriptions below and see if you might find your niche in one of these teams.                                                                            Ms. FitzGerald

Techmasters

The Techmasters is a group of volunteers that assist the administration and the technology teacher with technical tasks during the school year. We welcome parents, relatives, and parishioners who are interested in technology and would like to help to enhance our technology program.

We welcome both "true techies" and "want-to-help techies" to our team. You don't have to be a tech guru to join, because there is plenty of "not so techie" work that needs to be completed at various times in the school year. The team works because there is no one who knows everything in this ever-changing technological world. Members with various skills are what build a great team!

Skills we need…

  • Computer repairs, upgrades, and troubleshooting
  • Laptop repairs - keyboard replacement, memory upgrades, troubleshooting
  • Network- consultation, problems, access points
  • iPad deployment and synchronization
  • Unpacking, and setting up new equipment
  • Fixing and mounting projectors and interactive whiteboards

Joseph’s Workers

This team of Dads meets on an “as needed” basis, on a mutually convenient evening, to take care of those minor repairs and projects identified by the Principal as needing attention.   Experience varies and members learn valuable skills from each other as we tackle jobs together.  Some tools may be required, but most important is a willingness to work on small improvements and projects that will keep our school looking great!

  Signing up is easy!
