I used to make these alot on Sunday evenings for a quick supper when you girls were little in Merced.

1 c. cornmeal
1 tsp. salt
1 TB. butter
1 c. boiling water
1 TB. sugar
1/4 milk

Combine cornmeal, salt, butter.  Boil water and sugar in a small bowl.  Add the milk and mix well.  Drop batter by tablespoon onto hot griddle that is greased.  Press batter using greased pancake turner.  Cook  5-10 minutes on each side.  Serves 4.
