Virtue

I'm not some chosen one
But I know where I come from

I know where I'm going to
And I'm so glad that I'm going with you
    Some people just feel old

But I feel you and it feeds my soul

When I reach down inside my heart and feel Virtue there

Such a twisted-up old world

It turns on every boy and girl

Sun rises in a clear blue sky

Sun sets — every girl and boy die

All this good life’s just a crutch

When the whole damn world is so out of touch

I reach down inside my heart and touch the Virtue there

Should ever you stumble and fall
When this everyday battle just pushes your back up against the wall

Call me — I'm easily found

You won't have to fight anymore when I reach down

Say what you will of the ways

We fill up and waste our days

Call it the devil or call it fate

I say that it's never too late

I won't go six feet under ground

I'll turn this graveyard upside down

When I reach down inside my heart and wake up the Virtue there

I'll reach down inside my heart and I'll feel the mercy there

I'll reach down inside my heart and I'll share the Virtue there
