FRIEDRICH NIETZSCHE SAID: “GOD IS DEAD.”
“Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900) was a German philosopher of the late 19th century who challenged the foundations of Christianity and traditional morality. He was interested in the enhancement of individual and cultural health, and believed in life, creativity, power, and the realities of the world we live in, rather than those situated in a world beyond.” Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy.
Nietzsche, an atheist who rejected the morality taught by the scriptures and even called himself “anti-Christ” is now being quoted by some Christians. By foolish slogans, they are being seduced into the idolatry of Humanism! THE APOSTLE PAUL SAID:
Col_2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
A Sophist or philosopher in ancient Greece was famous for his clever, plausible, but unsound reasoning. He was adept at quibbling with catch-words, puns, and using deceptive arguments that were based upon imaginations that were created in his mind. In Paul’s day, Jewish philosophers used sophistries to oppose the gospel of Christ. Images that intellectual idolaters worship are not made of wood or stone; they are ideas, or ideals, that oppose the kingdom of God where Christ reigns.
FRIEDRICH NIETZSCHE SAID: “GOD IS DEAD.” That anti-Christ promoted self-indulgence here on earth and gave no thought to the things which are above. Why should any Christian quote such a fool?
THE APOSTLE SAID: “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth … Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience.” Col 3:1-6
“…Dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.” The war between truth and deception continues to this day. This is what we must do to be victorious:
“(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations [or, reasonings], and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” 2 Corinthians 10:4-5
