Macaroni & Cheese by Nancy Leras 2016


1 C regular milk

1/3 C butter

1 ea. 1-oz. envelope ranch dressing mix

1 tsp. lemon pepper

1 tsp. garlic pepper

1 tsp. garlic powder

1 C grated sharp cheddar

1 C grated Monterey Jack (or pepper jack)

1 C sour cream

1/2 C crushed saltines or Ritz crackers

1 LB. macaroni, cooked & drained (choose any shape)

*1 tsp. Pepper plant sauce, or other sauce if you prefer (*OPTIONAL - especially if you used Pepper jack cheese)



Combine all ingredients, except sour cream, crackers & macaroni.  Keep heat low or cheese will get 'tough'.  When cheese has melted add sour cream, saltines and macaroni.  Remove from heat and stir together to mix thoroughly.  Transfer to a casserole dish and bake at 375 for 30 mins.  Best to cover with foil OR stir half-way through baking time to prevent drying out.
