A DECEPTIVE STATEMENT

“[Expounding on - Ephesians 4:30...]

...The apostle Paul exhorted the Thessalonians: "Do not quench the Spirit" (1st Thessalonians 5:19). The word used for "quench" suggests extinguishing a fire, like when you are camping and you extinguish the campfire. We can actually quench the work of the Holy Spirit by unbelief. Grieving the Spirit and quenching the Spirit are sins that believers can commit. So let's be careful not to sin against the Holy Spirit." An Evangelist

Dear Reader, Can you spot the deception in that statement?

The deception is the Evangelist has redefined sin, which is transgression of the law:

1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

A person grieves the Holy Spirit when they disobey the Commandments of Our Father in Heaven. They do not grieve the Holy Spirit when they put a minister, his teaching, and the manifestations of a spirit to the test of the scriptures.

1 Thessalonians 5:19 Quench not the Spirit.

1 Thessalonians 5:20 Despise not prophesyings.

1 Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

The Holy Spirit of God does not want people to be guillible. Satan does! That is why we must prove all things and hold fast that which is good.

The Evangelist “added to” God’s law, and is exposed as a liar:

“Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” Proverbs 30:6
