Assurance of Salvation

1 John 5:11-12

And this is the testimony:

A. LIVING THE NEW LIFE 

 

Christ the Center

Sin's Penalty

His Spirit


1 Corinthians 3:16

His Strength


Isaiah 41:10

Philippians 4:13

I can do everything
through Christ who gives me strength. NLT


His Faithfulness


Lamentations 3:22,23

for his compassions never fail.

Numbers 23:19

God is not a man,

D. BE CHRIST'S DISCIPLE

 
Put Christ First

take up your cross daily,

Separate From the World

 

1 John 2:15,16

the cravings of sinful man,
the lust of his eyes
and the boasting of what he has and does--
comes not from the Father

what God's will is--

Be Steadfast

Serve Others

Give Generously

E. GROW IN CHRISTLIKENESS


Love

 

John 13:34,35

A new command I give you:
Love one another.
As I have loved you,
so you must love one another.

that you are my disciples,

Dear children,
let us not love with words or tongue
but with actions and in truth.  NIV
 

Humility

 

Philippians 2:3,4

Do nothing out of selfish ambition
or vain conceit,
but in humility
consider others better than yourselves.
(4) Each of you should look
not only to your own interests,
but also to the interests of others.  NIV
 

1 Peter 5:5,6

Young men,
in the same way be submissive to those who are older.

clothe yourselves with humility toward one another,
because, "God opposes the proud

Purity

Honesty

Faith

 

Hebrews 11:6

it is impossible to please God,

Good Works

 

Galatians 6:9,10
