SOME AFFLICTIONS AND SICKNESS ARE CAUSED BY SIN
Here is scriptural proof that some afflictions and sickness are caused by the transgression of fools:
"Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted. Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death. Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. Psalms 107:17-19
The Psalmist also wrote:
"Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word." Psalms 119:67
Jesus Christ fulfills the Old Testament prophecies of the promised Messiah that include this one:
"He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions." Psalms 107:20
Psa 107:20 - "He sent his word, and healed them - He spoke: “Be thou clean, be thou whole;” and immediately the disease departed; and thus they were delivered from the destructions that awaited them." Adam Clarke Commentary
"Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!" Psalms 107:2
"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." 1 Peter 2:24
