CORRECTING A DECEPTION REGARDING PAUL AND JAMES

Wanda wrote: "@ Donna: James was the leader of The Way(that is what they called the "church" at the time) Anyone who wanted to be a leader had to get a letter from James. The Catholic church for some reason says Peter was the first Pope but historically that is incorrect. Paul and James did not get along because James(the righteous, or James the Just) always told Paul he was wrong about his doctrine. All the documents of the east support this . As well as Galatians. Clement was the head after James."

Donna writes:  The doctrine that was taught by Jesus and the apostles (including Paul) is exactly the same.  The early church did have a controversy over the conversion of the Gentiles, and if it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.  (The law of Moses is NOT  the Ten Commandments.)  That trouble was caused by FALSE BRETHREN who claimed to come from James.  Gal 2:4;12

Read The 15th chapter of Acts and you will see that those godly men assembled at Jerusalem to resolve their differences and they used the Old Testament scriptures as their authority to establish church doctrine with the Book of Amos being specifically mentioned.

Verse 23 shows us that the apostles and elders and brethren all sent letters and verse 24 tells us that they were all of one accord.

Acts 15:24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: TO WHOM WE GAVE NO SUCH COMMANDMENT.

Acts 15:25 It seemed good unto us, BEING ASSEMBLED WITH ONE ACCORD,  to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and ***Paul***,

Acts 15:26 Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Wanda,  James and the brethren at Jerusalem testified  that Paul  had hazarded his life for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Anything that is  said to the contrary is a deception.
