Donna answers Artie Curtis

Regarding "What is Service" Artie wrote: "I didnt see the question answered in the article. Are we supposed to worship only on Saturday? What about all the other Hebrew sabbaths? there were many. Are we obliged to keep those too? How come keeping the Sabbath is NOT in the NT? How come Jesus said HE was the Sabbath?"

Donna writes:  Please read the commandment, Artie.  God has clearly said what your duty is in this matter.

The scriptures make a distinction between the festival Sabbaths of the ceremonial law and the weekly Sabbath.  The festival Sabbaths were part of the temporary ceremonial law that was observed  in Jerusalem.  On the other hand, the Sabbath Commandment  is one of the Ten Commandments.  See how Paul makes this distinction between the ceremonial law, which required circumcision,  and The Commandments of God:

“Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but what matters is THE KEEPING OF THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD.”  1 Cor 7:19 NAS

Sabbath observance is in the New Testament --and Jesus did not say He was the Sabbath.  Those are  antinomian slogans that the scriptures expose as wrong.

Your problem is that you are associating worship with assemblies instead of obedience.   Paul said:

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service*.  [worship]  Romans 12:1

The true worship of God is to serve Him by keeping His Commandments.

When you are willing to obey  God --no matter what the cost -- then, and only then,  you will worship Him.
