THE NAME

THE NAME

“Historically,  the Jewish spiritual leaders actually preferred to not use God's name at all. Hence the term "Ha Shem" which translates as The Name.

Since there are no vowels in the name YHWH no one can say for certain how the true name is pronounced. The Biblical translators did not "take out" the name of God 6000 or so times as the Hebrew name movement claims - as if there is some vast cosmic conspiracy to hide the name of God.

Rather they simply admitted that they did not know what the name was and indicated the tetragrammton (YHWH) by the English word -> LORD in all capitals.

Strangely they did make an effort to transliterate the name as Jehovah 6 times. Though one might wonder why they decided the name had three syllables???

In the end - what is important is that when we reach out to God for deliverance from sin - He graciously responds to any name one uses to cry for help.

He always has and as long as mankind survives - He always will.…”  Harold Kupp
