THE FEASTS OF A GREAT PRETENDER

THE FEASTS OF A GREAT PRETENDER

A great pretender wrote: “I'd rather my Father say ‘why did you keep the feasts , you know you really didn’t have to’, than to say, ‘why didn’t you keep the feasts I commanded you to keep ?’"

The truth is that people are just pretending to keep the feasts today: because they cannot keep them according to the statutes and judgments of Torah. Their observance of the ceremonial feasts is a counterfeit!

For example:

1. “These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering,” Lev 23:37

In order to keep the feasts according to the statutes and judgments of God burnt offerings must be sacrificed and burned.

2. “But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come: And thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices,” Deu 12:5

In order to keep the ceremonial feasts according to Torah - after the Temple was built in Jerusalem, one must journey to Jerusalem and the Temple to offer this sacrifice. What a great pretender does not seem to understand is the difference between the temporary ceremonial feasts (that also had Sabbaths) and the Ten Commandments that contain the seventh day Sabbath Commandment.* We do not keep the seventh day Sabbath in the Temple, we keep it in our homes.  That is not complicated when we read the Commandment:

Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is WITHIN THY GATES.

Get it - there was no temple when the seventh day commandment was given! The seventh day Sabbath was never commanded to be kept in the Temple or required burnt offerings by those who keep it. We can easily keep the fourth commandment as commanded - we cannot keep the feasts as commanded. You pretenders cannot keep the feast days; you do not keep them - you just think you do. And nothing you say will ever change that simple fact.

*Hebrews 10:6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.

Hebrews 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

Hebrews 10:8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

Hebrews 10:9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

Hebrews 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
