We must not accept social events that profane the Sabbath.

WARNING: We must not accept social events that profane the Sabbath.  On judgment day, Jesus will say these words to the many so- called Christians who called Him ‘Lord’ --but refused to obey Him:

Mat 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: DEPART FROM ME, YE THAT WORK INIQUITY.*

A SPECIAL BLESSING FOR OBEDIENCE

The prophet Isaiah has told us that a special blessing is promised to those who obey God in this matter.

"If you turn back your foot from the sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day, and call the sabbath a delight and the holy day of the LORD honorable; if you honor it, not going your own ways, or seeking your own pleasure, or talking idly;

then you shall take delight in the LORD, and I will make you ride upon the heights of the earth; I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father, for the mouth of the LORD has spoken." Isa 58:13-14 (RSV)

LOVER OF TRUTH, when you are invited to participate in something that disobeys God, then you must make a decision. Take the time to soberly consider the consequences of your choice; because, you must overcome willful sin --or face the wrath of God and the second death.
