REWARDS AND EVALUATION
Our occasional performances are rewarding experiences, but as you know, I also like to motivate students with weekly rewards. I have found that students are becoming too focused on what toy they will be getting during every lesson - they should be focusing on how much they are improving and how much they are accomplishing - so I am changing things a bit :)
Starting in January 2014 students will earn tickets - I will keep them in a bag in their file at my studio and when they arrive for their lesson I will give them their bag. As students earn tickets they will be able to save them and redeem them at the "Winter Piano Fun Store" during the last lesson of each month - or they can save them and redeem them during another store opening.
WAYS TO EARN TICKETS:
I will be evaluating each students monthly progress at the first lesson of each month. You will find a Progress Report in the Music Notebook. Each item mastered is worth a ticket.
At the end of each lesson I will write an evaluation in the upper right hand corner of the assignment sheet. It is based on the student's effort toward their assignment and goals that I have set for them. An "E" is for excellent, "S" is for satisfactory, "N" is for needs improvement.
