"I am of Ellen White"
"I AM OF ELLEN WHITE"
"[Jesus] said unto them, My mother and my **brethren** are these which hear the word of God, and DO IT." Luke 8:21 (KJV)
Is a person's service in the kingdom of God diminished because they have not been taught by Ellen White? No, of course not! Paul put it this way ...
"I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase." (1 Cor 3:6-7)
For Harold, it was the apostle Matthew who planted the gospel seed. When Harold read the sermon on the mount, the Holy Spirit gave life to the words that the apostle had written. With them, the Father drew Harold to Jesus for Salvation. When I was just a child, the gospel seed was planted through the Bible Stories that were read to me.
Only the Father knows how many people have watered those planted seeds with their teaching and prayers. If we hunger and thirst after righteousness, Jesus promises us that we will be filled. He is faithful to put people and circumstances into our lives to make our faith grow.
God has used some people to teach me who were completely unaware of the importance of their words. (A stranger who corrected me; and, the faithful warning of a neighbor come to mind.) The Lord's hand is not shortened that it cannot save ...
If God chooses to call a man and his wife to Jesus for forgiveness and the cleansing from sin, He isn't restricted to the services of Ellen White --or the SDA church!
God is Sovereign. He can use whatever and whomever He pleases for the purpose that he has planned. Whether it is snow in the day of battle; little children praising the Messiah in the temple; or the sanctified ass that carried Jesus through the streets of Jerusalem.
The truth is: Ellen White was a water girl who will receive her reward according to her labour ...
"Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour." 1 Cor 3:6-8 (KJV)
In that joyful day when Jesus says: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant ..." Very few of those servants will have ever, even heard of Ellen White --or the SDA church. The planting and watering has been the work of many faithful servants who have depended upon God to give the harvest.
The apostle Paul teaches us that men (who are still carnal) segregate the body of Christ into factions; such as: "I am of Paul" , "I am of Apollos" ... So, any division of Christianity into SDA and NON-SDA groups, or saying: "I am of Ellen White" only distinguishes you as a babe who must be fed with milk because you are not able to discern the Lord's body. (See I Cor 3:1-9)
Harold and I are not SDA -- but, we have faith in Jesus Christ. We love Him. He is our Saviour, our Deliverer, and we have committed our lives to obey Him as our Lord. That makes us the least of His brethren ...
We do not claim to be sinless or to have reached sinless perfection; but we are walking in the light with a firm commitment to do God's will as we trust Him for the enabling power to overcome temptation.
