3. 9/26/05 - The Greatest Show on Earth
After having suspected that we had a mouse in the kitchen for some time, as evidence by the strage "stuffing" being pushed out of our oven, and the salt water taffy in the candy dish disappearing, and other similar incidents, we finally put out a mouse trap a few nights ago.  Early the next morning, around 4 am, we both heard a loud "snap"!  And sure enough we caught the mouse!  And he seemed to be a lone ranger, as there has been no evidence since.
We had a nice "normal" saturday for once, now that we've mostly finished the house and yard projects.  We cleaned house, mowed the lawn and washed cars!  How novel.  We paid a visit to Ma that night and had a rousing game of Yatzee.  Aaron drank no less than 4 cups of coffee then pronounced that he wasn't tired at all later that night when it was time to go to sleep before our early sunday morning.
Sunday, we went to see "The Greatest Show on Earth".  I've had a strange hankering to go to the circus for a few years and Aaron finally agreed to get it over with.  Sure, it's not quite the same as when you're 7 years old, but with age comes a greater appreciation for what they can train elephants to do.  They were the highlight, along with the acrobats and tight-rope walkers and other daredevil stunts.  Aaron's just glad it's out of my system now.

Well, a "normal" saturday for us for the past 20 months has been some kind of big house project.  But since we've finally approached the finish line, (just need to put gravel in the side yards), I look forward to more "normal" saturdays of cleaning house and mowing the lawn and washing the cars, etc.  Or getting to do fun small projects, like having Aaron build me a shoe rack.  :)

Christina,  you are the one for using KAS to keep the family feeling like we are next door.  This is great!  Glad you got the mouse.  Don't worry, there'll be more (I'm always battling them in Geyserville...)   ah, country life

How do you know when a Saturday is normal?

yup, I do.  I thought about that when they brought out the elephants at the opening of the show.
