Sharing our SRTs and Translations

The subtitle files (SRTs) you find here have been created

by an international team of translators, collectively known as "Lezsoapia",

whose goal is to share the storylines of lesbian characters from German television.

It is an entirely volunteer project.

The subtitle timings in these files are synchronized
with the videos found at:

If you are interested in contributing translations,
please contact us at: lezsoapia@gmail.com

If you are interested in using our subtitles or translations,
we have a few requests we ask you to abide by:

In a Nutshell

Our Requests:
1)      Please download our subtitle files for your own personal use only
Do not upload or distribute them anywhere publicly,
or use them for any ‘for-profit’ purpose.

2)      If you wish to share our subtitle files with someone,
please direct them to this site
(http://lezsoapia.keepandshare.com)
to access the files directly.

Share the link with them privately; do not post it on public websites.

3)      You are welcome to use our subtitle files for your own personal clips
and even fanvids and music vids, if you wish.  As long as you:

          a.      Credit us for the translations (a simple acknowledgement is all we ask).
You may credit us as:  Lezsoapia

          b.      Do not modify our translations
(don't change them, add to them, or mix other people's translations into
your videos along with ours).  However, you are free to change our timings
and/or exclude lines of dialogue to fit our SRTs to your videos.

There are reasons that we make these requests.
If you would like to know what those reasons are,
or if you wish to read our full statement
regarding usage of our SRT's, please read further (below).

There is a very good reason for this.
Namely, we do periodically make improvements to our files –
anything from a misspelled or missing word,
to a line that is too long and runs off the video player screen,
to even the random inspiration:
wow, this would be a WAY better translation,
why didn’t I think of that before!?! ;)

Anyway, we would like for everyone to always have
the latest and greatest versions of our videos and translations.
Thus the request.

3)      You are welcome to use our subtitle files for your own personal clips
and even fanvids and music vids, if you wish.  As long as you:

          a.      Credit us for the translations (okay, we admit it, we are proud ;-p).
A simple acknowledgement is all we ask.
You may credit us as:  Lezsoapia

          b.      Do not modify our translations
(don't change them, add to them, or mix other people's translations into

and/or exclude lines of dialogue to fit our SRTs to your videos.

The reason for this last request is because we put
a huge amount of effort into our translations --
discussing phrases, idioms, wordplays, and colloquialisms.
Capturing the humor, irony, and ‘tone’ of the way things are said.
Making the dialogue fit the characters’ facial expressions and body language.
Making it sound like that of a native speaker.
We even translate the meaning of song lyrics,
wherever we believe they are important to the story.

In other words we attempt to make the translations as perfect
and also true to the original German as we possibly can.
We have spent so many hours with these translations,
they are like our children.
We hope you love them just the way they are. ;)
ENJOY!
