2013 Field Day is just around the corner.
Time to start planning for the annual FD effort at Four Churches Farm. Help is always needed for set up and tear down. Operators are needed to take turns at the rigs, and/or log. Equipment is always needed for our stations on 40/80 CW, 80/40/20/15/10m SSB, etc. Anyone wanting to give PSK/RTTY a try. Or 6m. should start planning now.
Our secret weapon on 80/40 CW ( an 80m horizontal loop at 70 ft) takes some work to get up but racks up the QSOs. Ditto The Swamp ( ie Brad/Kevins big white tent) which houses 3 stations at the west end of the grounds. And the hexx beam will make its presence felt on 20-15-10m.
All the new hams are welcome to participate, as are the not yet new hams. No license required to work the mic since licensed hams will be there too. Come and get your feet wet. You are a much needed resource to us.
More to follow as the date approaches. Jul 9, 2011 ( 1 post ) 7/9/2011

Hey gang,
I have
OSU sunglasses and a pen from FD. Let me
know if they are yours or if you know who they belong to let them know so they
can find their home before they get lost.

I just woke up from a long afternoon nap and realized that Field Day is over! ( but strands of CQ Field Day are still ringing between my ears.)
Kudos on the well organized set up and dismantling of the stations and for all the ops that volunteered at the ssb and cw stations (2A this year). And for all those who lent moral support...and more! It was fun to take part and see the energetic new blood making a ruckus on the bands. Looks like plenty of good experience was gained and that should pay dividends for FD 2011! And perhaps sooner ...like for the OQP in late August? ad/or The Ohio Parks on the Air. de Bob Jun 24, 2010 ( 1 post ) Jun 19, 2010 ( 1 post ) Jun 7, 2010 ( 2 posts ) Jun 3, 2010 ( 1 post ) May 31, 2010 ( 1 post ) May 29, 2010 ( 1 post ) May 25, 2010 ( 1 post ) May 22, 2010 ( 1 post ) May 18, 2010 ( 1 post ) May 16, 2010 ( 1 post ) May 15, 2010 ( 2 posts ) May 13, 2010 ( 6 posts ) May 10, 2010 ( 1 post ) May 8, 2010 ( 1 post ) |
