I’ve read a lot about what to bring to rehab, but I’m more concerned about what’s not allowed. I don’t want to pack something that will just get taken away when I arrive. Does anyone know common items that are usually banned? Any advice from personal experience would be appreciated!

Good question! Many rehab centers have strict policies about what you can and can’t bring, so checking ahead is always a smart move.

Most rehab centers prohibit alcohol, drugs, weapons, and anything that could be a distraction. Perfumes and toiletries containing alcohol are usually not allowed. Some facilities also restrict cell phones, laptops, and excessive cash. Bringing too many clothes or unnecessary items can make things cluttered. A good rule of thumb is to pack light but bring meaningful personal items for emotional comfort.
