Hi! I have been interested in mobile app development for a long time and recently started thinking about porting old games to modern platforms. I have several projects that once worked on Flash and old versions of Android, and I would like to understand how realistic it is to preserve the original gaming experience when porting to iOS and new versions of Android. I am especially interested in what tools and technologies are currently best suited for this in order to minimize bugs and code rework. Who has encountered such an experience, please share how you solved compatibility, graphics and controls on different devices?

I recently decided to try porting a few of my old games that used to run on Flash and old versions of Android to modern platforms, and I want to share my experience. I'll say right away that preserving the original gaming experience is a completely realistic task, but it requires a careful approach to compatibility and interface adaptation. I used the services of this team. They helped me choose modern technologies and tools that minimize bugs and allow me to carefully transfer the code, while preserving the authenticity of the graphics and gameplay. I especially liked how they adapted the controls for touch screens and different display sizes, which greatly facilitated testing on iOS and Android. Thanks to their professional approach, my team managed not only to port the games, but to make them relevant for modern players without losing the atmosphere of the original. I was completely satisfied with the result and am sure that this is the best way for developers who want to bring old projects back to life with minimal effort.

I recently faced a similar task myself and I can say that it is much more realistic than it seems at first glance, although it is not without difficulties. I had several old Flash projects that I wanted to revive on modern mobile platforms. The first thing I did was carefully analyze the source code and graphics to understand which elements require a complete rework, and which can be adapted directly. For porting, I used modern engines like Unity and Godot - they cope well with cross-platform compatibility and allow you to significantly reduce the number of bugs. It is especially convenient to use asset and visual conversion tools to preserve the original style of the game, while adapting the controls for touch screens.
